Critica:
Si intravedono in questa mostra a Fara Filiorum Petri due anime.
La prima é un'anima dolente, tragica, solo apparentemente rasserenata, in una "maternità" e in due opere con figure bonarie di santi. L'inquietudine viene espressa con l'uso di colori violenti e spesso complementari, che tuttavia non rallegrano, in altre parole non è un colore fauves, nella composizione ricca, ulteriormente impreziosita dall'uso del collage: garze, gioielli, trine minute si imbevono di colore e si depositano a fianco di duri solchi scavati sulla superficie del legno che fa da supporto. Infine proprio attraverso i soggetti prevalenti: l'uomo crocefisso o legato, anche i pochi amanti sono tenuti insieme da sottili legacci, che sembrano più forti della passione fisica che momentaneamente li avvince.
La seconda anima è più pacata, meno viscerale. Qui il colore è quasi colato via, solo alcuni brandelli ne rimangono, ma non è un segno di abbandono della vita, di morte, tutt'altro: è un antico mondo di guerrieri e filosofi, efebi ed eroi, che il pittore risveglia dal lungo letargo attico e riporta ai loro amori, ai loro pensosi indugi prima dell'azione, alla ripresa di coscienza della loro fisicità, rimettendo in circolo linfa e sangue e dando un senso meno tragico alla vita.
Critique:
Two souls catch a glimpse of each other in this picture at Fara Filorum Petri.
The First is a sad soul, tragic, only just apparently cleared, in "maternity" and in two operas with friendly, saintly figures. The agitation comes quickly with the use of violent colours and often complimentary, that otherwise do not brighten up.
In other words, it is not a fauves colour in the rich composition, further made precious by the use of collage: gauzes, jewels and fine laceworks that have absorbed colour and have placed themselves beside hard excavated gullies on the supporting wood surface. At last, right through the prevalent subjects; the crucified or tied man, even the few lovers kept together by this strings that seem stronger than physical passion in which momentarily bind them.
The second soul is calmer, less visceral. Here, the colour is almost drained away only a few hints of it remain, but it is not an abandoned sign if life or of death, it is quite different: it is an ancient world of warriors, philosophies and heroes that the painter awakes from deep hibernation and bring back their loves, to their pensive hesitations before actions, to the renewal of conscience of their beings, distributing nourishment and blood and giving a less tragic sense of life.
